Alternative rock band 3 Doors Down has announced the first round of rescheduled U.S. tour dates, which will begin in December and continue into January.

The band, currently on tour in the UK and Europe, had to postpone the last leg of the U.S. tour due to lead singer Brad Arnold’s laryngitis. Initially, only seven dates in September were affected by the illness, but under a doctor’s advice that Arnold continue to rest his voice, a full 16 shows were postponed.

Nine concerts have been rescheduled so far, beginning with a December 4 performance at the Wharf at Orange Beach in Orange Beach, AL, and continuing through December 20 at the Gwinnett Center in Atlanta, GA. The remaining seven dates, to be made up in January, will be announced at a future date.

“We are excited to get back on the road,” said Arnold in a statement on the band’s Web site. “It’s where we belong, and where we feel the closest to all our fans, who have been so supportive and loyal to us throughout the years.”
