In touring news, hardcore band Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) is returning to the U.S. after a brief run in Japan to complete a co-headlining run with Buckcherry. The two bands were scheduled to tour earlier in the fall, but when A7X frontman M. Shadows was diagnosed with vocal fatigue, Buckcherry was forced to complete the first round of dates as the sole headliner.

Ska punk crew Reel Big Fish has announced some real big tour plans for the New Year with Streetlight Manifesto, One Pin Short and Tip the Van. The extensive trek includes a U.S. run, followed by lengthy runs across mainland Europe and the UK.

Fans of the Eagles will be able to see the classic rock band perform at the CMA Awards — for the right price. Tickets to the mid-November award ceremony are available with three face value price ranges, depending on the level of seating fans want to secure. … Billboard has announced some of the nominees for the top awards at the 2008 Billboard Touring Awards, including Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and The Police.

Barenaked Ladies have planned some fun for the whole family with a handful of December shows in Canada. The events will have one of two themes: “Snacktime!” matinees will feature songs from BNL’s new children’s albums, while “Barenaked for the Holidays” evening concerts will include a mixture of festive tunes and some BNL standards. On December 6, the band will perform both a children’s concert and holiday show at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON, followed by another holiday show on December 7 at the same venue. Another matinee-and-holiday doubleheader goes down on December 13 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, ON.

The New York Dolls have some scattered fall tour dates coming up in this year, beginning with an October 29 show at Ventura Theater in Ventura, CA. From there, the band will head to Spain for four shows: December 3 at Heineken Venue in Madrid, December 4 at Capitol in Santiago de Compostela, December 5 at Rockstar Live in Baracaldo, and December 6 at Oasis in Zaragoza. The Dolls will be back in the States to close out the years with a December 20 show at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA, and a December 27 gig at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York, NY.

Stars are hitting the road again after a couple weeks off following their U.S. run earlier in the fall. The upcoming dates have the band charting their native northern territories in Canada, beginning with an October 29 show at the SUB Ballroom in Fredericton, NB, and wrapping December 12-13 at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, ON. Other highlights for the Stars trek include a November 3-4 run at Club One in St. John’s, NF, and a November 28 gig at Metropolis in Montreal, QC. The New Year sees the Stars launching some international dates in Australia and Japan, beginning with a New Year’s Eve show in Victoria, AU.

The Acorn is following up a lengthy run of Canada with a stretch of U.S. dates that takes the band through late November. The trek continues tonight (October 21) at Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco and wraps its U.S. shows with a November 20 gig at The Crofoot in Pontiac, MI. Highlights include a Halloween concert at Café Montmartre in Madison, WI, a November 12 show at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, NC, and a November 13 show at 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. The Acorn wraps the season with three more shows in Canada, including the November 29 closer at Barrymore’s Music Hall in the band’s hometown of Ottawa, ON.
