B.B. King tour continues into 2009 with help from Buddy Guy
Iconic blues musician B.B. King will continue to tour extensively through the end of 2008 and into early 2009 with some recently announced additions to his itinerary. The legendary guitarist has been on the road since early September, and continues his performance schedule with a November 14 gig at Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK.
After completing his previously announced U.S. tour dates, King will continue on through the end of December with a special December 27-28 run at the new Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA, and a New Year’s Eve performance at Warnors Centre for the Performing Arts in Fresno, CA. The next leg of his tour begins February 5 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL, and wraps April 15 at the Paramount Center for the Arts in Peekskill, NY.
During next year’s 13-show run, King will co-headline on most nights with five-time Grammy Award winning musician Buddy Guy. Over the course of his 50-year career, Guy has recorded dozens of albums, most recently “Skin Deep” in 2008. Along with King, guitar-slinging Guy has influenced numerous recording artists, such as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton.
Tickets for the 2009 concerts are currently available via presale on the B.B. King Official Fan Club through November 13-15, with public onsales beginning afterwards.
The self-proclaimed “ambassador of blues” is touring in support of his most recent release, the August 2008 album “One Kind Favor.” Produced by T-Bone Burnett, the record covers old blues songs that King counts among the early influences on his 60-year career.
