Indie-pop phenomenon The Ting Tings will tour North America this spring for a 23-city block of concerts. The UK-based duo, which released the debut “We Started Nothing” in May 2008, has gained critical acclaim and commercial success across Europe and North America.

The Killers have also announced plans for a spring tour of North America to reprise their current winter jaunt across the states and provinces. … Meanwhile, the Black Lips have lined up nearly 40 performances for their early 2009 itinerary, which supports the band’s newest studio album. … Classic rock crew Aerosmith nixed plans to headline a Venezuelan festival next month when it came to their attention that lead guitarist Joe Perry would need to undergo emergency knee surgery. … While Aerosmith is sidelined, the Asbury Park, NJ-based venue The Stone Pony is getting back in the game. The venue, which had closed for renovations last year, is reopened and has planned an official celebration for February 7.

Pat Benatar, one of rock ‘n’ roll’s leading ladies, has unveiled a few tour dates for the 2009 season. The only early-year concert is scheduled for February 17 at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL, but the rock songstress will play on this summer, for at least two more dates. Benatar has a two-night stand slated for July 17-18 at Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, WA.

Johnny Reid has booked a spring album release tour for “Dance With Me,” as well as a nice batch of scattered dates across Canada for the remainder of the year. In all, Reid has more than 30 shows set, from March 5 at Sanderson Centre in Brantford, ON, through September 2 at the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, BC. Highlights include two-night stands on March 18-19 at Centrepointe Theatre in Ottawa, ON, on March 27-28 at Club Regent Casino in Winnipeg, MB, on April 3-4 at Deerfoot Inn & Casino in Calgary, AB, and on April 9-10 at Casino Regina Show Lounge in Regina, SK.

Dr. Dog will strike up a U.S. tour next month for a 12-date run. The outing begins February 11 at The Pour House Music Hall in Raleigh, NC, and wraps up February 24 at Gravity Lounge in Charlottesville, VA. Along the way, the indie folk-rockers will stop for shows on February 14 at The Mercy Lounge in Nashville, TN, on February 17 at One Eyed Jack’s in New Orleans, LA, and on February 21 at The Social in Orlando, FL. Dr. Dog is touring behind the band’s most recent release, “Fate.”

Butch Walker has earmarked spring ’09 for his latest touring excursion with His Gang of Merry Musical Melodymakers. The 20-date tour begins March 5 at Lee’s Place in Toronto, ON, and closes out its East Coast run with a March 29 set at The Social in Orlando, FL. Highlights for the trek include a March 10 gig at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL, a March 14 set at Webster Hall in New York, NY, a March 21 concert at 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, and a March 27 performance at Exit/In in Nashville, TN.
