Singer-songwriter Chris Cornell will cross the U.S. this spring to promote his upcoming album with acclaimed producer Timbaland. The rocker’s journey begins March 27 at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, TX, and continues through an April 19 performance at Riviera Theatre in Chicago, IL.

The 17-city jaunt will focus primarily on the East Coast and Midwest states, with additional dates to be announced soon. Highlights for the run include a March 31 concert at the House of Blues in New Orleans, LA, an April 7-8 two-night stand at Webster Hall in New York, NY, and an April 17 set at Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, WI.

Presale tickets are currently available for fans registered with Cornell’s official Web site, and public onsales for the jaunt begin February 13. A statement on the site also notes that fans who purchase tickets online will receive a digital copy of Cornell’s upcoming album, “Scream.”

Customers will receive a code that can be redeemed as of the record’s nationwide release on March 10. “We hope this will give Chris’ fans something extra at a time when money’s becoming tighter for everyone,” the statement read.

The disc is the third solo effort from Cornell, a former member of rock groups Soundgarden and Audioslave. He has described it as a departure from his well-known grunge-rock roots, a change driven largely by his collaboration with star record producer Timbaland.

Cornell has already completed two promotional runs for “Scream,” including a West Coast tour with Timbaland and a subsequent month-long tour of Canada in November.
