For the second week in a row, Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park holds the title of number one venue, according to TicketNews’s exclusive venues rankings for the week ending Sunday, February 22. Contributing to the park’s success are sales for the wildly popular Elton John and Billy Joel tour, ranked number one in TicketNews’s most recent Top Concerts and Top Combined Events rankings. The stadium also benefitted from sales for home team and World Series champions the Philadelphia Phillies. Citizens Bank Park power scores a 4.32 this week.

Next, for the fifth week running, Madison Square Garden (MSG) hits at the number two spot. MSG’s staying power is largely due to strong ticket sales for New York Knicks basketball, finishing at number six on TicketNews’s Top Sports Events rankings, as well as to sales for upcoming performances by Fleetwood Mac and Jimmy Buffett. MSG power scores a 2.78 this week.

Shooting up five slots to number three is Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL. Like Citizens Bank Park, Wrigley Field can thank both the Elton John/Billy Joel tour and home team baseball for its rise in the ranks. This week’s ticket sales zoomed its Chicago Cubs to the number one spot in TicketNews’s Top Sports Events rankings. Wrigley Field has a power score of 2.43. Holding steady in the number four slot is the Gershwin Theatre. Broadway’s home to monster musical Wicked power scores a 2.37 this week. The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA moves up one to the number five position this week. The Center hosts Los Angeles Lakers basketball and will also see dates in the coming months from the popular tours of Britney Spears, Fleetwood Mac and the WWE.

Making a return to the list this week is the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco, CA. At number six and power scoring a 1.88, the Orpheum is host to a long-running production of “Wicked”, currently booked through September. Down four to the number seven slot is the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston MA. The Garden is home to the popular Boston Celtics, and it has an impressive roster of top-selling artists scheduled to perform this season, including Britney Spears, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Keith Urban and Taylor Swift, and Fleetwood Mac. TD Banknorth Garden finishes with a power score of 1.75.

Reliant Stadium makes it back into the top ten this week, finishing at number eight. With a power score of 1.53, the stadium is host to the well-attended WWE tour in April. Fenway Park remains in the top ten, moving up one slot to the number nine position. The home to the Boston Red Sox, at number two in TicketNews’s Top Sports Events rankings this week, power scores a 1.47. Finishing out the top ten this week is the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. At number ten, the Center is due to host a number of top tours this season, including those of Eric Clapton on his summer stint with Steve Winwood, Britney Spears, Fleetwood Mac and the WWE. The American Airlines Center power scores a 1.43 this week.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales for venues from the TicketNetwork Exchange™, the world’s largest secondary market exchange. A Power Score illustrates a given venue’s category-specific significance. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales for a venue, and total ticket sales within the category. As such, power scores should only be used to compare venues within a particular category.
