The seasonal Jagermeister Music Tour has announced headliners for its spring 2009 outing: punk rockers Pennywise and reggae crew Pepper. A total of 25 dates have been confirmed for the tour, which will begin in mid-April and continue through late May.

The internationally popular Irish quintet Celtic Thunder will return to North America this spring for a new 30-show run, a follow-up to the group’s three-month trek in fall 2008. … The Connecticut Operas been forced to cancel the remainder of its 2009 season and close its doors due to the current state of the economy. According to reports, refunds will not be issued for patron’s now-worthless tickets.

Tenacious D has announced plans for one concert this month. The musical comedy act is sometimes referred to as “mock rock” and features actor Jack Black and Kyle Gass. The duo will hit the stage on February 26 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA.

Britney Spears will be adding another show onto the UK leg of her Circus Tour. But contrary to previous reports, Spears won’t be restricting her overseas performances to the O2 Arena in London (where she currently has eight shows set: June 3-4, 6-7, 10-11, 13-14). The new UK gig is slated for June 17 at the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, according to Pollstar. Spears’s national tour launches March 3 at New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, LA, and wraps May 2 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.

KISS has added another show to its spring and summer touring schedule, though the band still doesn’t have any concerts booked for the U.S. The new gig is penciled in for April 14 at Esdtadio Nacional in Lima, Peru, bringing the iconic rock troupe’s South American itinerary to five shows. As previously announced, two performances have been booked for Canada: July 13 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, QC, and July 18 at Halifax Commons in Halifax, NS.

Keith Urban recently added a handful of new dates to his summer tour itinerary, which is now set at 36 dates. Additions are a March 14 appearance at Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta, GA, a May 14 performance at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN, and an August 15 concert for the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis, IN. Urban’s summer itinerary will take him across the country from a May 7 show at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, through an August 27 performance at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA. The country musician’s next performance will take place this Sunday (February 15) at the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL.

Jeff Beck will perform a couple of two-night stands in the U.S. this spring, following his current jaunt in Japan. The stateside shows are booked for April 9-10 at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York, NY, followed by an April 21-22 run at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

Robyn Hitchcock will launch a new U.S. tour this year, following a February run of the UK and a couple scattered dates in March. The new 14-show outing picks up April 3 at Antone’s in Austin, TX, and closes out with an April 19 performance at Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, MN. The singer-songwriter will stop along the way for an April 6 gig at Exit/In in Nashville, TN, an April 9 session at Black Cat in Washington, DC, an April 11 concert at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York, NY, and an April 18 set at Epiphany Episcopal in Chicago, IL. A solitary show in Canada is booked for April 16 at The Mod Club Theatre in Toronto, ON.

Mirah will perform a series of shows along the West Coast this spring. The 12-show trek begins April 1 at The Department of Safety in Anacortes, WA, and closes out April 15 at Neurolux in Boise, ID. Along the way, the folk-pop singer-songwriter will stop for gigs on April 3 at Biltmore Cabaret in Vancouver, BC; April 7 at Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francisco, CA; April 9 at Echo in Los Angeles, CA; April 11 at Launchpad in Albuquerque, NM; and April 12 at Hi-Dive in Denver, CO, among other dates.

The Cave Singers will travel coast-to-coast this spring for a round of 15 concerts in the U.S. and Canada. The outing begins April 1 at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY, and closes April 25 at Bottletree in Birmingham, AL. Other scheduled stops include an April 3 show at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA, an April 4 gig at Lee’s Place in Toronto, ON, an April 14 performance at Crocodile Café in Seattle, WA, and an April 23 event at The Lost in Dallas, TX. The Cave Singers are also slated for a night with indie folk band Dr. Dog on April 6 at The Basement in Columbus, OH.
