Rock veterans Blondie and Pat Benatar are teaming up for a brief tour of the U.S. this summer. Though the full parameters of the tour have not been revealed yet, a dozen dates have been confirmed for the outing at this point.
As it stands now, the itinerary opens with a July 21 concert at Mountain Windery in Saratoga, CA, and concludes August 22 at Beau Rivage Theatre in Biloxi, MO. Other gig stops are lined up for August 2 at Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA; August 8 at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA; and August 20 at Austin Music Hall in Austin, TX.
Blondie launched a world tour in 2008 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the New Wave band’s debut album, “Parallel Lines.” The outing resumed early this year, with a few concert dates in February. The group will follow the summer tour with a couple additional solo shows on August 28 at Grand Sierra Resort & Casino in Reno, NV, and September 1 at Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson, AZ.
Benatar and her backing band will be on the road a bit longer this summer, with a solo tour launching on June 27 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL, and continuing through August 27 at Inn of the Mountain Gods in Mescalero, NM. In all, Benatar has more than 20 concerts booked this season.
American all-female band The Donnas are listed as special musical guests for select dates on the upcoming tour, according to the official Blondie Web site.
