While the East and West Coasts are the U.S. regions most heavily visited by tours, art rock trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs will show some love to the Midwest with a brief, late spring run.

The 10-city trek is bookended by festival sets, beginning May 23 at Sasquatch! in Quincy, WA, and closing out June 12 at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. Other gig stops include a May 26 concert at Riviera Theatre in Chicago, IL, a June 2 performance at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, and a June 6 radio concert for Live 105 BFD in San Francisco, CA.

Tickets for all festival and special concert appearances are already available. Public on-sales for most of the confirmed club shows start by May 2.

The rock trio’s late spring itinerary is somewhat limited because of a current European tour leg and more overseas dates booked through the summer. However, according to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ official Web site, another U.S. leg is in the works.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs recently released their third studio album, “It’s Blitz!” on March 9. The album has peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard 200 so far and garnered high praise from critics. Rolling Stone gave the effort four stars, calling frontwoman Karen O “a bohemian fairy godmother, counseling transcendence through booty-shaking.”

The New York City-based band, rounded out by guitarist Nick Zinner and drummer Brian Chase, burst onto the music scene in 2003 with the debut “Fever To Tell.” Largely driven by the commercial success of the single “Maps,” the album peaked at No. 55 on the Billboard 200 and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album.

After completing a series of summer shows in Europe, Yeah Yeah Yeahs will briefly return to the states for a July 31 set at All Points West in Jersey City, NJ.
