Ticket sales will wind down for tours by Leonard Cohen and Cheech & Chong, among others, during the week ending June 8, as compiled by TicketNews.
After earning accolades across the United States and Canada for his exhaustive career-spanning performances, Leonard Cohen will complete his North American tour tonight, June 2, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO. The concert concludes Cohen’s first tour of the U.S. in about 15 years, and after a month’s rest, he’ll be back at it with a new summer tour itinerary in Europe.
Also this week, comedic duo Cheech & Chong will wind down their Light Up America tour dates with three final performances before the summer. The next show is June 4 at Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI, followed by events on June 5 at Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford, CT, and June 6 at the Borgata Events Center in Atlantic City, NJ. After these dates, the funnymen have only scattered performances confirmed for August and beyond.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs will wrap their current U.S. tour over the weekend with some final headline dates. The band’s next show is tonight, June 2, at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, with their regular touring schedule wrapping on June 8 at Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ. New York City based hip-hop station Hot 97 will host its annual Hot 97 Summer Jam on June 7 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Scheduled performers for the one-day extravaganza include Mary J. Blige, T-Pain and Young Jeezy.
The touring festival Jagermeister Music Tour closes down production this week after more than 30 concerts across the U.S. The final show, featuring headlining rock bands Pepper and Pennywise, lands June 3 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA. Country music fans have a festival of their own to look forward to with the three-day BamaJam Music & Arts Festival hitting Enterprise, AL, on June 4-6. Featured acts include Kid Rock, Taylor Swift, Brooks & Dunn, The Black Crowes and Alan Jackson.
The NHL Stanley Cup Finals head to Pittsburgh this week and could potentially end before the weekend, depending how Games 3 and 4 play out between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings. The next two games in the series are booked for June 2 and 4 at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, PA, with the Red Wings leading 2-0. If necessary, Game 5 is in line for June 6. This week also launches the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic. Game 1 and 2 will hit the Staples Center court in Los Angeles, CA, on June 4 and 7.
