Three-year-old ticket brokerage Best in the House Tickets was the big winner in TicketNetwork’s first annual Enterprise Awards, handed out last week during the fourth annual Ticket Summit in Las Vegas.

The Ithaca, NY company received three awards, Best Fill Rate and Best Overall Broker (with revenues below $250,000), and second place in Best Customer Service. The awards were determined based on internal calculations by TicketNetwork staff.

An elated Andrew Wallenstein, who owns Best in the House Tickets with his wife Jaime Wallenstein, said winning the awards was a huge honor (see picture below). “We’ve been fortunate to have a lot of happy, repeat customers, so we hope to keep doing what we’re doing.”

Best in the House Tickets sells tickets to all types of events, but it specializes on concerts. In 2009, among its most successful tour sales were for Taylor Swift, American Idol and Elton John & Billy Joel.

In fact, it was a Billy Joel concert in Syracuse, NY a few years ago that enticed Andrew to become a broker. As a fan of the artist, he bought two tickets to the show and enlisted a friend and his mother to also buy two tickets when they went on sale. He then sold four of the tickets for a profit on eBay, and he realized that with his retail and publishing background he could possibly make a living as a broker.

A lot of hard work and long hours followed, but the three-year-old company is now a success. “I think it’s all because we really concentrate on customer service,” Andrew said. “We make a point to always try our best to fill orders, even if on occasion we lose a bit of money because of an accidental double sale.”

He added, “I know when I’m getting good customer service and when I’m not, so I try to always keep the customer’s perspective in mind.”
