Paul Potts, the first winner of British reality TV talent show “Britain’s Got Talent,” has cancelled his July 21 performance at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. A post on his Web site stated a “logistic and production situation which has resulted in the artist regrettably not being able to perform in Washington.”
The concert is hoped to be rescheduled in the near future. Tickets for the cancelled event will be refunded.
Potts also cancelled his two Mexican concerts on July 2 in Mexico City and on July 3 in Monterrey.
Potts launched his 2009 North American tour June 25 at Vancouver’s Centre for the Performing Arts in British Columbia. Warner Theatre was to have been the last date before heading to Prague, CEH, for two concerts at Smetana Hall, July 24-25. His last completed U.S. date was July 20 at Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont, IL.
In addition to winning “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2007, Potts won the title of Best International Artist at the prestigious Echo Awards in Germany this year.
