In what started out as a Super Bowl halftime diversion, the Lingerie Football League (LFL) will make its debut this season on September 4 at the Sears Center Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL. The opening game is a match-up between the Chicago Bliss and the Miami Caliente.

Tickets are reasonably priced at $63, $40, $23, $10 and $8 with Bliss Party Deck Tickets at $20. The Party Deck is general admission, standing room only.

There is a 20-week season with women playing seven-on-seven tackle football on Friday nights. Players are clad in, of course, lingerie, garter belts and chokers, but no pads.

The field is 50 yards long, and the teams play two 15-minute halves. Scoring is different from conventional football, with a touchdown worth six points; conversion run or pass from the two-yard line equaling one point; conversion pass or run from the five-yard line for two points; and a safety equal to two points.

The other teams in the league are the San Diego Seduction (San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego, CA), Seattle Mist (Showcase Center, Kent, WA), Los Angeles Temptation (Los Angeles Sports Arena, CA), Denver Dream (Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, CO), Dallas Desire (Quiktrip Park, Grand Prarie, TX), Philadelphia Passion (Sovereign Bank Center, Trenton, NJ), New York Majesty (Nassau Veterans Coliseum, Uniondale, NY) and Tampa Breeze (St. Pete Times Forum, Tampa, FL). The Miami Caliente’s home field is the Bank Atlantic Center, in Sunrise, FL.

The league plans for tailgate parties in the arena and stadium parking lots to boot. The games will also be available for streaming on the League’s official Web site for $7.95 a game or a season pass at $125.
