Tickets for several upcoming concerts from Jay-Z as well as tickets for Cher’s upcoming Vegas stay are on sale throughout the weekend ending November 16 as compiled by TicketNews.
Kicking off this weekend’s onsales are tickets to catch music legend Cher live in Las Vegas. As Bette Midler announces that she will be saying good-bye to Sin City, Cher has announced that she will be taking over the headlining spot at Caesar’s Palace from the Divine Ms. M starting next year. Tickets for the open ended engagement go on sale Saturday morning. After completing several successful “good-bye” tours over the past several years, Cher remains a strong draw and it is expected that her Vegas show will perform well. Tickets go on sale Saturday for another upcoming Vegas event, UFC 108, to be held at the MGM Grand. The mixed martial arts event is expected to draw strong interest.
Irish rockers U2 have additional tour stops on their upcoming stadium tour. Tickets for their show in Philadelphia are on sale today, while tickets for their concert in Seattle go on sale Monday morning. The tour, staged in the round, anticipates strong sales, and the choice of venues lends itself to these expectations. Playing slightly smaller venues is pop star Lady GaGa. The extremely popular singer has concerts in Las Vegas, New York City, and Atlantic City on sale this weekend. Despite the cancelation of her tour with Kanye West, Lady GaGa is still enjoying strong ticket sales for her revised tour. Her popularity is only expected to rise with the re-release of her debut album at the end of November. Country star Brad Paisley has multiple tour dates on his upcoming tour among the weekend onsales as well. Among the cities on sale are Las Vegas, San Antonio, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma City.
Returning to the touring stage this spring is Bon Jovi. The rockers have tickets on sale for their upcoming stadium and arena tour stops in Las Vegas, Chicago, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Dallas. Tickets to their concerts have been extremely hot so far, so it is expected this wide release of tickets will also sell strongly. Also returning to touring with the release of her latest album is Mariah Carey. Missing from the music scene for several years, Carey’s comeback album has received mixed reviews, so it remains to be seen if she will be able to recapture her popularity from the past. Carey’s upcoming concert in Las Vegas goes on sale Saturday morning. Also with concert tickets on sale Saturday is Hip Hop mogul and rapper Jay-Z. Playing stadiums and arenas, Jay-Z has concerts on sale in such large markets as Dallas, Los Angeles, and Boston.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
