Boston Red Sox principal owner John Henry this week said he is concerned by the team’s plan to raise some ticket prices for the 2010 season, but that the increase was necessary. According to the Boston Globe, Henry said he realizes how expensive it is for a family of four to attend a game, but due to the size of Fenway Park – which holds about 37,000 – the team is sometimes forced to raise prices. The Red Sox did not raise ticket prices for the 2009 season.
