Organizers of the 2010 Winter Olympics said they expect to sell all 1.6 million tickets for the global sports event, a feat never before achieved by an Olympics. Bloomberg reports that the previous Olympics, held in Beijing in the summer of 2008, sold about 96 percent of the 6.8 million tickets available. The Vancouver Olympics Committee said demand for tickets has been huge for the 86 events that will be held, but the most in-demand event is the Gold Medal game for men’s ice hockey, which could feature the strong Canadian team.
