Ted Leonsis, the owner of the Washington Capitals, reportedly has reached an agreement with the estate of the late Abe Pollin to by Pollin’s Washington Wizards and the Verizon Center where both teams play. The exact price was not disclosed, but The Washington Post estimates Leonsis’ sports group could pay about $170 million. The publication reports that the Wizards and Verizon Center together were valued at about $550 million, of which Leonsis and his sports group already owns 44 percent. But, the group is also assuming about $250 million in debt, plus there are other factors that complicate the pricing of the deal.
