Natalie Merchant tour maps summer concert dates for ‘Leave Your Sleep’

Supporting her fifth solo album and first new release in seven years, Natalie Merchant has announced plans for a summer headlining tour.

The 31-city tour launches July 12 at Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ, and continues through a September 1 show at Peace Center Concert Hall in Greenville, SC.

Along the way, the former 10,000 Maniacs frontwoman will perform July 15-16 at Town hall in New York, NY; July 22 at Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL; August 3 at Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver, CO; August 13 at Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, CA; and August 28 at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

Public onsale dates vary for each concert, though tickets are already available for select performances. A full list of the tour’s onsales can be found on Merchant’s official Web site. Face values range from lows around $30 to just over $60, according to Ticketmaster.com‘s current listings.

Merchant is touring behind the April 9 release of her latest studio album, “Leave Your Sleep.” The record is her first new project since 2003’s “The House Carpenter’s Daughter” and debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200, while also topping Billboard‘s folk albums chart.
