After unveiling plans for fall 2010 and winter 2011 legs to his No Better Than This Tour, John Mellencamp has added a third round of dates to the calendar for spring 2011.
More than a dozen concerts have been added to the heartland rock veteran’s 2010-2011 calendar. The new extension picks up April 1 at the Verizon Theater in Grand Prarie, TX, and continues through an April 28 show at Stephens Auditorium in Ames, IA.
Mellencamp has also expanded a couple earlier dates on his calendar. The musician’s stand in Toronto, ON, will stretch over February 8 and 9 at Massey Hall. Meanwhile in Manhattan, he’ll take the stage February 18 and 19 at Radio City Music Hall.
Public ticket sales start October 29 for all newly revealed concerts. Fans can gain early access to tickets through a round of presales beginning October 27 on the musician’s official Web site. For the most part, Mellencamp’s ticket prices start at about $45 and range up to $130, according to listings on Ticketmaster.com.
Mellencamp’s first tour leg begins in just a few days with an October 29-30 stand at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. The 2010 run ends after about a month with a November 26-27 block at Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL.
Next year, the musician’s second tour leg kicks off with a February 3 performance at the Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA, and continues through March 5 at Moran Theater in Jacksonville, FL. Mellencamp and his band have a month-long break in the calendar before the third (and final, at this point) tour leg launches.
The 59-year-old Mellencamp is promoting his most recent studio album, “No Better Than This.” The record dropped August 17, earning a No. 10 debut on the Billboard 200.
