Tickets for Taylor Swift’s latest concert tour, as well as tickets to several upcoming tour stops from Lil’ Wayne are on sale throughout the weekend ending February 7 as compiled by TicketNews.
Starting off this week’s onsales are tickets to eight upcoming Taylor Swift Concerts in four markets. Touring to promote her smash hit album “Speak Now,” Swift has been a consistently strong seller despite the economy, routinely selling out her shows. Swift also has managed to cross genres, dominating both the country and pop charts, as well as gaining popularity with the important teen demographic. On her current tour, Swift is playing arenas and stadiums, a testament to her strong sales potential. Among the dates on sale this weekend are shows in Newark, St. Louis, Washington DC, and Nashville.
Among the onsales for this morning are tickets to several upcoming concerts from rapper Lil’ Wayne. This will be Wayne’s first tour following his imprisonment, which could translate into big sales for the rapper. In addition to the tour, Wayne is scheduled to release a new album this year, which could also promote ticket sales. Cities with tickets on sale include Baltimore, New Orleans, and Columbus.
Also on sale this weekend are tickets to Katy Perry’s upcoming tour stop in Toronto, as well as tickets to the upcoming joint concert from music legends Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart at the Hollywood Bowl in California. Sunday offers tickets to four concerts from the Tanglewood Music Festival in Massachusetts. Acts with tickets on sale are James Taylor, Steely Dan, Earth Wind and Fire, and Train. Finally, among the Saturday onsales are tickets to the upcoming concert from rockers Rush in Vancouver.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
