Box office returns improved once again this past week with ticket sales reporting $22,207,681. Ticket sales of the previous reporting period ending March 13 were $18,553,510, a difference of $3,654,171. The same week last season reported $20,836,876. Comparing numbers for this season to the last, ticket sales are 2.7 percent ahead.

Five of the 31 current productions reported box office receipts in excess of $1 million including “Wicked” at the Gershwin, leading again at $1,670,779, “The Lion King” at the Minskoff, $1,612,549, “Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark” at the Foxwoods, at $1,405,868, “Jersey Boys” at the August Wilson, $1,064,222 and “Mary Poppins” at the New Amsterdam, $1,057,164.

Attendance reported for the week overall was 88.27 percent, with 14 shows reporting 95 percent or better. The leading four were the musical “The Book of Mormon” at 101.76 percent, “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” at 100.42 percent, “The Lion King” at 100.04 percent and “Wicked” reporting 100 percent. “Million Dollar Quartet” at the Nederlander reported the lowest percentage of capacity at 55.51 percent.

“Wicked” ranked highest in achieving its Gross Gross Potential at 106.66 percent this week. Reporting the lowest figure was “American Idiot” at the St. James, 34.19 percent.

Five shows posted tickets with face values at or exceeding $300, including “Jersey Boys” at $350. The best bargain-priced average ticket was $56.92 for the new play “The Motherf**ker With the Hat” at the Gerald Schoenfeld.

The production “Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony” closed on March 19 following a short eight day run at the Belasco Theatre.

– “Spider-Man” is in previews at the Foxwoods and will open June 14.
– “Ghetto Klown” is in previews at the Lyceum and opens March 22.
– “The Book Of Mormon” is in previews at the Eugene O’Neill and opens March 24.
– “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying” is in previews at the Hirschfeld and opens March 27.
– “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” is in previews at the Rodgers and opens March 31.
– “Anything Goes” is in previews at the Sondheim and opens April 7.
– “Catch Me if You Can” is in previews at the Neil Simon and opens April 10.
– “The Motherf**ker With the Hat” is in previews at the Schoenfeld and opens April 11.
– “War Horse” is in previews at the Beaumont and opens April 14.
– “Rock of Ages” remains on hiatus and will reopen this week, March 24, at the Helen Hayes.
