Minnesota’s legendary concert venue First Avenue, made famous by Prince in the film “Purple Rain,” is switching from its long-time ticketing company Ticketmaster to Etix. According to the Star Tribune, the change will occur next month, and the nightclub’s staff believes the move will lead to significantly lower handling fees and more efficiency. Estimates put the potential savings for fans at 20 percent to 40 percent from the handling fees charged by Ticketmaster. In addition to the venue’s box office, First Avenue will use the same ticket-selling outlets throughout the region.
