When it comes to announcing a tour partner, the second time appears to have been the charm for Britney Spears. The princess of pop has confirmed a new and appropriately all-female billing for her upcoming Femme Fatale Tour.
Nicki Minaj, who is currently on tour with Lil Wayne, will join the 26-date summer tour as a special guest. Opening duties will fall to pop-dance band Jessie and the Toy Boys, and the twin sister DJ duo Nervo.
With her tour’s lineup finally in order, Spears has also unveiled the first onsales for the expansive summer outing. Public ticket sales will open April 30 for select dates of the tour.
The face value of tickets will run from $25 up to $350 in most markets involved in the late April onsale, according to Ticketmaster.com’s current listings. Exceptions include Las Vegas, where prices hit a high of just $236.28, and Long Island, where tickets start at $96.
When Spears revealed her summer 2011 plans in late March, international superstar Enrique Iglesias was set to appear as a special guest with full-production status. But only hours after it was announced, Iglesias pulled out of the tour.
“Despite initial reports based on formal discussions of the possible run [with Spears], Enrique will continue on his solo tour in support of his new album ‘Euphoria,'” a spokesperson for Iglesias told Reuters shortly afterwards. His tour includes some early June concerts in the UK, which may have made it difficult for Igelsias’ production to return to the States in time for Spear’s mid-June tour launch.
The Femme Fatale tour kicks off June 17 at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento, CA. The North American routing concludes two months later with an August 13 performance at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON. A full list of tour dates is available here.
