Soundgarden celebrated the unofficial start of summer in an appropriate way. The band marked Memorial Day with news of two new concert dates for their upcoming July tour.
Newly added shows fall on July 20 at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena in Stateline, NV, and July 27 at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, AB.
Nineteen concerts are now scheduled for the North American tour. Soundgarden launches the summer venture with a July 2 show in Toronto, ON, and concludes the trip July 30 in Quincy, WA.
Onsales begin June 10 for the Stateline show and June 3 for the Calgary performance. According to Ticketmaster.com, ticket face values will be set at $59.50 for the former and CA$29 to CA$75 for the latter event.
The first four dates of Soundgarden’s tour — its first since regrouping in 2010 — were announced in mid-April. Additional concert announcements followed in May, along with the start of most public onsales.
Soundgarden has invited several special guests to perform various stints on the July tour. The new gig in Stateline will feature The Mars Volta, while Meat Puppets will support the Calgary show. Other tour guests include Coheed and Cambria, Queens of the Stone Age, and Mastodon.
