Tickets for upcoming concert dates from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra as well as tickets to several concerts from Lady Antebellum are on sale throughout the weekend ending September 17 as compiled by TicketNews.
This weekend’s onsales begin with tickets to upcoming concerts from chart-topping country crossover artists Lady Antebellum. One of the most popular country bands of the last five years, the group has had tremendous success over the past two years on the pop charts, which has shot the band to international stardom. Their popular single “Just a Kiss,” from their recently released album “Own the Night,” peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is currently at number 30.
Also among the weekend’s concert onsales are tickets to catch Further in concert. Created and headed by Phil Lesh and Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead, the band has amassed a large following of fans. Continuing this weekend’s concert onsales are tickets to various upcoming concerts from holiday favorites Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Their annual winter concerts give the band a chance to play some of their greatest hits, and tend to result in high ticket sales. Tickets are on sale throughout the weekend for shows in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, and Seattle.
Rounding out this weekend’s concert onsales are tickets to several upcoming dates from Sting. One of the most successful artists of the last 30 years, the former lead singer of The Police has concert dates in Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Toronto on sale Monday.
Finally, several NHL teams have tickets to their upcoming home seasons on sale throughout the weekend. First up, the Pittsburgh Penguins have tickets on sale today. Following a successful 2010-11 season that saw the Penguins making the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, the team will attempt to rebound from a first round playoff loss.
Also with tickets on sale today are the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks once again made the NHL playoffs last season, eventually losing in the conference finals to the Vancouver Canucks. Rounding out the NHL onsales are tickets to the Tampa Bay Lightning’s upcoming season. Coming off the club’s first playoff appearance since 2007, the Lightning have made several moves in the off-season in hopes of increasing the team’s success this year.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
