Tickets for upcoming concert dates from Drake, as well as tickets to the Guns N’ Roses tour are on sale throughout the weekend ending October 10 as compiled by TicketNews.
This weekend’s onsales begin with tickets to several upcoming concerts from hip-hop sensation Drake. The 24-year-old rapper, who spent several years starring on the hit Canadian television show “Degrassi” prior to starting his music career, will release his second album, “Take Care,” at the end of the month. The album is a follow-up to his debut album, “Thank Me Later,” which reached number one on the Billboard charts and was certified platinum in the U.S. and Canada. Dates on sale include stops in Columbus and Greensboro.
Also with tickets on sale this weekend is rock band Guns N’ Roses. Still fronted by original lead singer Axl Rose, the band has sold in excess of 100 million albums worldwide over its 25-year existence. While their last album took nearly 10 years to be released, the band has been commenting that a new album may be on the way. Tour dates for the band’s stops in Albany and Detroit are on sale Saturday.
Among the sports entertainment onsales for the weekend are tickets to several upcoming WWE shows. Still one of the more popular television programs, especially with the highly sought after male 18-49 age group, WWE shows still routinely draw great numbers of fans. Tickets are on sale Saturday for the WWE Holiday tour, with stops in New York City, Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum, and New Jersey’s IZOD Center.
Rounding out the weekend are several individual concert dates. Country superstar Garth Brooks has an upcoming concert at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas on sale Saturday, while Bob Seger has upcoming concerts in Baltimore and Memphis on sale throughout the weekend. Finally, R&B crooner Chris Brown has a stop in southern Illinois among today’s onsales.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
