Tickets to One Direction’s 2013 North American tour are among the onsales for the weekend ending April 23 as compiled by TicketNews®.
Formed in 2010 for the British singing competition “X Factor,” One Direction has been mentored on their journey to stardom by Simon Cowell. The band has shot to the top of the U.K. and U.S. charts with their debut U.S. album reaching No. 1 of the Billboard 200 in its first week. Concert stops in Miami, FL; Washington D.C.; Chicago, IL; Nashville, TN; and Toronto, ON are on sale this weekend.
Also among the weekend onsales are tickets to upcoming summer concert stops from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Springsteen, who launched his latest album in March of 2012, has maintained one of the most prolific music careers in history. Dates for his upcoming tour on sale this weekend include stops in Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA; and New York City, NY.
Continuing the weekend concert onsales are tickets to the upcoming dates on the continuing tour from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The 2012 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are touring in promotion of their 2011 album “I’m with You,” which garnered a Grammy nomination in 2012 for Best Rock Album. Dates on sale this weekend include stops in Calgary, AB; Vancouver, BC; and Omaha, NE.
Songstress Fiona Apple has several concerts on sale throughout the weekend. The singer/songwriter, who is best known for her 1997 single “Criminal,” has a new album set to debut in June of 2012. Dates on sale this weekend include concerts in Chicago, IL; Nashville, TN; and St. Louis, MO.
Finally, tickets are on sale this weekend for upcoming concerts from Jimmy Buffett. The “Margaritaville” singer is embarking on his “Lounging at the Lagoon” tour this year. Dates on sale include shows in Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
