Dave Matthews Band tickets among weekend onsales

This weekend’s onsales begin with tickets to four upcoming concerts from the band Phish. The American rock band, which has developed scores of fans through word of mouth rather than radio play or studio album sales, are known for selling out their concerts with great regularity. Among the Saturday, October 20, 2012 onsales are tickets to four upcoming concerts at New York City, NY’s Madison Square Garden.

Also among this weekend’s concerts onsales are several upcoming concerts from Dave Matthews Band. The band recently released their eighth studio album, Away From the World, and will be promoting the album on their 14 stop East Coast Winter Tour. Concert dates in Manchester, NH; Raleigh, NC; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Toronto, ON; Louisville, KY; and Chicago, IL are among the 12 stops included in Friday’s onsales.

Tickets to country star George Strait’s final concert tour are also on sale this weekend. Dates in New Orleans, LA and Sacramento, CA are among the Friday, October 19, 2012 onsales. Also among the Friday onsales are tickets to Lady Gaga’s upcoming concert at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.

As the holiday season rapidly approaches, tickets are beginning to go on sale for various holiday-themed radio station concerts. On sale Saturday are tickets to the two-day KIIS FM Jingle Ball, to be held in Los Angeles, CA’s Nokia Theater. Headlining the first evening will be country star Taylor Swift and headlining the event’s second evening will be pop superstar Justin Bieber.

Wrapping up this weekend’s onsales list are tickets to two upcoming stops from World Wrestling Entertainment. The WWE’s weekly “Raw” program has tickets on sale for its upcoming trip to Greensboro, NC. Also among the Saturday onsales are tickets to an upcoming stop of WWE Smackdown in Miami, FL.

“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
