Ramin Karminloo, the actor currently playing Jean Valjean in Les Miserables will be lightening his work load in the coming months for vocal rest and personal reasons. This month, he will not be performing during the matinees on the 19th and 26th. But, beginning on April 3rd, Karminloo will no longer perform on Thursday evenings to rest his voice. He will also be taking time off between May 19th and 22nd due to other obligations. During these times, actors Aaron Walpole and Nathaniel Hackmann will alternate playing the role of Jean Valjean. Karminloo has also starred in Les Miserables in both the London and Toronto before coming to New York.
