Ticket Summit®, the leading conference and trade show for ticketing and live entertainment professionals, has wrapped up the first day of this year’s conference. The day began with a warm welcome to Las Vegas from former mayor Oscar B. Goodman. Immediately following the welcome address, panel sessions Rev Up Your SEO, Sports & Venues, and an Introduction to the USMTG took place.

Rev Up Your SEO was held from 1:30-3 p.m. with valuable information for improving search engine optimization. Ajax Union’s CEO Joseph Apfelbaum, Keyword Performance’s founder Tom Lee, and Christopher Majeske, VP of Business Development at Event Tickets Center hosted the panel discussion. With combined professional online marketing experience of over 25 years, their extensive knowledge was useful for attendees interested in enhancing online presence for their businesses.

The second panel, Sports & Venues, was held from 2:30-4 p.m. Attendees were joined by sports insiders for first-hand updates on sports teams, leagues, and venues. The panel was led by the executive director of ALSD Bill Dorsey, sports revenue analytics veteran Troy Kirby of The Tao of Sports, VP of Product Marketing and Strategy for AEG Doug Lyons, and Bill Makris of the Arizona Coyotes.

TFL and ATBS for ticketing professionals

Introduction to the USMTG, the third and final panel, was held from 3-4 p.m. Attendees had the opportunity to meet the founding members of the United States Minority Ticketing Group and learn what the organization is doing in the event ticketing space. Scot X. Esdaile represented the Connecticut State Conference of NAACP Branches, Mike Freeman from Special Delivery Tickets, Larry Lundy the president of Lundy Marketing Group, and Freda Wilkins the Director of Customer Relations at Smooth Tickets sounded off on the panel discussion.

Following a full day of panel discussions, the evening will conclude with a Networking Cocktail Party Sponsored by TicketNetwork and Event Tickets Center from 4-6 p.m. in the Ironwood Ballroom. View the schedule for tomorrow’s full day of events here.
