Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Announce 40th Anniversary Tour

Tom Petty is taking his Heartbreakers on the road with confirmed dates through July in celebration of 40 years of their hit music. The American Rock band was formed in 1979 in Florida and has won several Grammy awards. It has been rumored that this may very well be the last time they will embark on a tour. The band was able to lock in the No. 1 position this week as well at the No. 5, with the No.1 spot going to the tour dates legendary singer-songwriter, Joe Walsh will make a guest appearances on.
The tour will kick off in Oklahoma City on April 20th with confirmed dates through July. Some tour dates include: American Airlines Center, North Little Rock, Nashville, Atlanta, Austin, Tampa, Memphis, Champaign, St Louis, Morrison, Kansas City, Saint Paul, Des Moines, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Hartford, Newark, Chicago, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Canandaigua, Milwaukee, Toronto, Clarkston, Boston, Baltimore, Forest Hills and more. The band will be releasing west coast dates in the near future.
New to the rankings this week is the BTS – Bangtan Boys. The seven-member boy band out of South Korea landed in the No. 4 spot this week with only 4 United States tour dates scheduled. The band will perform for two dates at the Prudential Center on March 23, 24 and at the Honda Center on April 1, 2.
Another new listing this week is the Lionel Richie & Mariah Carey tour which landed in the No. 9 position. The two legendary artists are set to hit the stage are set to kick-off their tour in Baltimore on March 15 and will wrap in Sunrise on May 27. Some other cities on the tour schedule include: Newark , Philadelphia, Saint Paul, Chicago, Grand Rapids Toronto, New York, Cleveland, Boston, Kansas City, Tulsa, Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, New Orleans, Nashville, Charlotte and more.
The rest of event listings remained the same except for switching ranked positions, except for power couple Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood who managed to hang onto the No. 2 position. Bruno Mars moved up in the rankings this week and grabbed the No. 3 spot up from last week’s No.9 while Broadway favorite Hamilton nabbed the No. 4 spot up from last week’s No. 7. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra moved down the No. 7 position from last week’s No.5 while Stevie Nicks & The Pretenders moved up from last week’s No. 10 position to the No. 8 spot. The Red Hot Chili Peppers rounded out the rankings in the No. 10 position.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre makes its way onto this week’s rankings.

Seating just over 9,500 patrons, The Red Rocks Amphitheatre located in Morrison, CO, managed to land in the No. 10 position this week with some help from two upcoming concert dates from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on May 28 -29. The band recently announced their 40th anniversary tour and will perform at the famous open-air amphitheater with singer-song writer Joe Walsh.
The venue is naturally formed and has a large titled, disc-shaped rock which sits behind the stage that acts as a natural backdrop. There are huge vertical rocks which angle out from the stage on both the left and right sides with seating in between.
Besides the upcoming Tom Petty shows, other upcoming events scheduled to hit the famed venue include: Zedd, Method, Redman & Flatbush Zombies, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Dada Life, Opeth & Gojira, Bonobo & Nick Murphy, Global Dub Festival: Flux Pavilion, Elephant Revival and Odesza.
Also new venue to the rankings this week and landed in the No. 2 position, is the Prudential Center in New Jersey. The venue got a huge boost in the rankings due to the announcement of two upcoming tour dates by the BTS – Bangtan Boys, a South Korean boy band.
Other events set to take place at the venue include: upcoming New Jersey Devil games, The Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Disney on Ice, Twenty One Pilots & Judah and the Lion, Monster Jam, Charlie Wilson and Marc Anthony.
Another new venue to the rankings this week is the Times Union Center located Albany which landed on the rankings in the No.5 spot with a little help from some recent on-sale concert dates from Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood.
The multi-purpose indoor arena is home to the AHL Albany Devils. Besides upcoming team home games other events set to take place at the venue include: Monster Jam, Twenty-One Pilots, The Harlem Globetrotters, Maroon 5, Tove Lo, R. City and New Kids on the Block, Paula Abdul & Boyz II Men.
Madison Square Garden managed to hold onto the No. 1 spot as well as the Wells Fargo – PA which also maintained its same spot from last week at No. 4. The Rogers Place moved down one spot into the No. 3 position from last week’s No. 2, while the AT&T Stadium jumped onto the rankings this week in the No. 6 spot. The Honda Center nabbed the No. 7 position while the TD Garden moved up one spot into the No. 8 from last week’s No. 9. The Staples Center in Los Angeles moved down into the No. 9 spot from last week’s No. 3.
