Fans looking for tickets to the still red-hot Broadway smash Hamilton will have their shot in a week – as long as Ticketmaster’s computers deem them worthy.

According to a press release from Live Nation on Tuesday morning, an allocation of tickets going on sale Monday, August 21st will use Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program to prioritize purchasing opportunities. Registration for those interested begins today and will close on Friday at 6:00PM (EST). Those interested can register at Hamilton.tmverifiedfan.com.

Ticketmaster trumpets the Verified Fan program as an efficient solution to combat bots and scalpers. “I am confident that Verified Fan will be a valuable service to our fans,” Hamilton Producer Jeffry seller says. “We know how challenging it is to buy tickets and this new Ticketmaster program will make the process a whole lot easier.”

Hamilton is just the latest high profile act to add the Verified Fan program to its onsale process. Bruce Springsteen’s run on Broadway this fall will also utilize the distribution platform. The August 26 fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and MMA star Conor McGregor also used it, though plenty of seats are still available for that one. Verified Fan operates by employing an algorithm to determine whether or not a registered user in the lottery program is a “true fan” of the act to be made available. In some instances, users are required to grant access to social media accounts in order to scrape relevant data. Those who pass whatever threshold are in place are sent a unique code to purchase tickets when the sale begins.

Opting in does not guarantee one will be selected for purchase, and being selected doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a ticket either.

The tickets on sale next week will cover performances ranging from March 6 through August 19, 2018. If any tickets remain after the Verified Fan allocation (and any holdbacks), there will be a public on sale on August 22 at 10:00AM.
