Legendary singer, songwriter, musician and producer Stevie Wonder has announced a limited engagement concert series this summer that will span across four cities.
The series, dubbed “The Stevie Wonder Song Party: A Celebration of Life, Love & Music,” will kick-off in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 3. After five shows at Vegas’ Park MGM, Wonder will head to Atlantic City, New Jersey for two shows and then Maryland for a pair of shows at MGM National Harbor. The trek will wrap up with a single show in Springfield, Massachusetts on September 1.
Last week, Wonder held a private birthday bash in Los Angeles, with the same name as the series, giving fans a preview of what’s to come. He brought Donald Glover, Luke James, Kelly Rowland, and Jessie J onstage to sing “Superstition.”
The star hasn’t been on the road since his 2015 and 2016 tour, celebrating his classic 1976 hit record Songs in the Key of Life. However, he’s played many festival sets and just last month, appeared at the Equal Justice Initiative’s Concert for Peace and Justice in honor of the opening of Montgomery, Alabama’s National Memorial for Peace and Justice.
Wonder is one of the most prominent figures in the industry; he was the youngest recording artist to have a No. 1 hit single at 12-years-old, and since his debut, never really stopped inspiring and creating music. Over his career, he garnered 49 Top Forty singles – which 32 of them debuted at No. 1 – and has accumulated over 100 million in sales worldwide. With over 25 Grammy Awards and even a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, Wonder is surely a staple in music.
