Public Image Ldt. To Launch North American Tour In Honor Of 40 Years

The English post-punk band Public Image Ltd. have announced a North American tour in support of their 40th year anniversary, following their ongoing trek in the U.K. and Europe.

Throughout 2018, the band has been celebrating their anniversary by premiering a documentary film about the group, and revealed a career-spanning box set, up for grabs later this month. They’ve already headed out on a European and U.K. tour, which is set to run through September. However, they’re not done with the fun quite yet; this October, the group will begin touring the U.S.

The trek will begin on October 10 in Atlanta, Georgia and will make stops in cities like Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco. Public Image Ltd. will wrap-up the west coast in Los Angeles on November 3 before traveling to Mexico City on November 6. Along the way, the documentary, The Public Image is Rotten, will premiere in New York City on September 14.

Public Image Ltd., fronted by vocalist John Lydon, was revived after a 17-year hiatus in 2009. Two records followed, including This is PiL and What The World Needs Now… Earlier this year, the group released the new mix of “Annalisa.” The band is best-known for the 1978 hit “Public Image” from First Issue and 1984’s “This Is Not A Love Song” off of This Is What You Want…This Is What You Get.
