The rockers of Foo Fighters have postponed two upcoming tour dates to let their lead vocalist, Dave Grohl, recover from vocal illness.
According to a press release, Grohl “suffered a loss of voice and is now on vocal rest” following a show in Seattle this past Saturday. Grohl joked in a statement, “That’s the last time I ever make out with Bono,” pointing at the U2 star who has a vocal issue at the moment.
The cancelled shows are in Canada – tonight’s at Roger’s Place in Edmonton, and Thursday’s at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary. The September 4 show will be pushed back to October 22, and the September 6 gig will take place the following night on October 23. Previously purchased tickets will be honored at the new date, and refunds are available at point of purchase.
As of right now, the group is still set to play a show in Vancouver on Saturday and continue their U.S. trek next week. Throughout the remainder of their run, Foo Fighters will hit cities like San Jose, Phoenix, St. Louis, Detroit, and Milwaukee, and will perform at KAABOO Del Mar and CalJam 18 festivals. They will be joined by artists The Joy Formidable and Gang of Youths on tour.
