Concertgoers will now have the ability to find tour dates and request concert tickets through the first-ever industry integration between Ticketmaster and Comcast.

Ticketing giant Ticketmaster will now enable Xfinity X1 customers to browse ticketing options through their open ticketing platform. Using “voice search” on their remotes, customers can access tour dates and will then be prompted to receive a text with a code to buy tickets online. While they can not buy tickets simply on their television, Ticketmaster’s API will display nearby shows.

“Our team is always thinking of new ways to reach more fans by extending Ticketmaster’s  open platform,” Dan Armstrong, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Distributed Commerce for Ticketmaster said in a statement. “This partnership with Comcast is a groundbreaking way to discover events and buy tickets.”

Along with the launch of this new feature, customers will be able to access the first tickets going on sale for popstar Kelly Clarkson’s new Meaning of Life Tour. Users simply have to speak “Kelly Clarkson tour” into their voice remote to be directed to a list of Clarkson’s upcoming dates. Fans of the pop singer also have the ability to stream her music through Pandora and watch clips from her previous tours and TV appearances.

“Fans can now go to Kelly Clarkson’s dedicated destination on X1 to enjoy her music and shop for tickets to her much-anticipated tour right on the TV via this seamless integration with Ticketmaster,” Nancy Spears,  Vice President, Strategy & Execution at Comcast Cable, said in a statement. “X1 enables us to unveil new and innovative experiences that complement and elevate content across the plaform and to add more value for customers by giving them more ways to interact with the events, entertainment, performers and brands they love.”

Clarkson said that her tour will be unlike anything she’s ever done before, and she’s so proud of her record The Meaning of Life. The tour is slated to kick-off next January in Oakland, California, with dates running through late March. On the 28-city trek, she will be joined by NBC’s winner of The Voice, Brynn Cartelli.

I am thrilled to partner with Xfinity to offer my fans a new, easy way to find tickets right on the TV and join me on tour,” Clarkson said.
