To honor the legendary rockstar Jimi Hendrix, an all-star band will head out on a cross-country trek, dubbed ‘The Experience Hendrix Tour.’

The all-star band consists of drummer Billy Cox, who was a member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys, as well as Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, King’s X bassist/vocalist Doug Pinnick, and guitarists Joe Satriani, Dweezil Zappa, and Eric Johnson. While these are the core musicians of the tour, special guests include Taj Mahal, David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos, and Ernie Isley of the Isley Brothers.

“Jimi Hendrix. The name that comes to my mind as one of the ‘Premiere American Guitarists of All Time,'” Mustaine said in a statement. “An Innovator, and legendary musician, I am beyond honored to do my part in this tribute to the immortal Jimi Hendrix, and want to thank [EH Tour producer] John McDermott for inviting me to play along such mind-blowing guitarists as Joe Satriani, and a personal favorite of mine, Eric Johnson. See you there!”

While Experience Hendrix shows have been playing since 2004, this year’s trek lasts for 29 dates, kicking-off in Pompano Beach, Florida on March 3, 2019. The tour will make stops in cities like Jacksonville, Raleigh, Cincinnati, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Albany before wrapping-up in Wallingford, Connecticut on April 6.
