Celtic-punk band Dropkick Murphys have announced a 22-date tour next year leading up to St. Patrick’s Day in their hometown of Boston, Massachusetts.
The outing kicks-off on February 17 in Poughkeepsie, New York, followed by shows in cities like Toronto, Dallas, Miami Beach, Myrtle Beach, and Lancaster. They will only hit select states on the east coast and mid-west before returning to Boston for a three-day residency at House of Blues. The trek will wrap-up on March 17.
Their St. Patrick’s Day show will take place in Lowell at Tsonga Arena – featuring an entire day of festivities. After their matinee show, an afterparty will take place, including professional boxing, fan karaoke, and a Dropkick electric set. An outdoor carnival will also be set up in-between shows, offering food, beer, a bouncehouse, and a dunk tank.
Supporting acts throughout the tour include Booze & Glory, Lenny Lashley’s Gang of One, and Amigo The Devil. During the March 14 show at House of Blues, The Interrupters will open the show, and The Devil Makes Three will support the group on St. Patrick’s Day.
Dropkick Murphys released 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory early last year, which follows 2013’s Signed and Sealed in Blood. They are best-known for the 2005 hit “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.”
