A concert in honor of country star Willie Nelson will take place next January in Nashville, featuring a notable group of performers.
Willie: Life & Songs of an American Outlaw is set for January 12 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The show will feature Nelson, along with artists George Strait, Kris Kristofferson, John Mellencamp, Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack, and Lyle Lovett. Jack Johnson, Norah Jones and the Little Willies, Vince Gill, Sheryl Crow, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, and the Avett Brothers will also take the stage.
The show will honor Nelson, who is now 85-years-old, and his 62-year career. Blackbird Presents CEO Keith Wortman said that Nelson’s songs mean “everything to music artists and fans alike.”
“Like Willie, they have inspired us to remain true to ourselves in every possible way,” Wortman said in a statement. “This incredible lineup of artists on this show is a testament to that.”
Preceding the gig, Nelson can be found on tour. His next stop is tomorrow, November 9, in Biloxi, Mississippi. From there, he will hit cities like Montgomery, Ft. Worth, and Oakland before heading to Austin for four shows with Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real. As of right now, his latest-scheduled show is February 27 in New Orleans.
