“I kinda felt like I was asleep at the wheel and going in autopilot for the past few years, not living up to my full potential and the purpose of why I’m living on this Earth: to sing and make music,” Aguilera told EW of Liberation. “So I’m getting back to that and getting back to my own personal truth. It’s almost like a new shedding of skin.”

During her last NYE performance, Aguilera performed “Candyman” and “Fighter.” It’s unknown if she will bring back a throwback hit like “Genie in a Bottle” or perform one of her hit tracks off Liberation like “Fall in Line.”

Aguilera will take the stage just before the ball drops on December 31st in Times Square, New York City. The event will also be programmed live on ABC starting at 8 p.m.
