Despite the fact that the playoff pairings for the NFL have yet to be finalized with two weeks remaining in the regular season, the ticket market for Super Bowl LIII, scheduled for Sunday, February 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, is already heating up. The annual spectacle that is the NFL finale currently has a get-in minimum price hovering around $4,000 for seats in the upper reaches of the sparkling new stadium, which opened in the summer of 2017.

Preliminary analysis indicates that best place to find cheap Super Bowl tickets across the various secondary ticketing marketplaces is to be had at TicketClub.com, with ZeroMarkup.com a close second. Ticket Club’s lowest price offering as of Tuesday afternoon was a single seat in Section 326, Row 31, currently $3,570 for members of the service fee-free marketplace. All told, there are 42 tickets available at less than the $4,000 mark on Ticket Club. The least expensive pair on the website is $7250.

Over on ZeroMarkup, which similarly does not charge service fees, the least expensive pair is available for $7,472.

Both websites are an order of magnitude less expensive than the competing secondary ticket marketplaces. The least expensive pair of tickets on VividSeats was going for $9,822, while StubHub’s bottom price was $4,985 for a single seat in Section 318. Over on the NFL’s “On Location Experiences” page, a single ticket in 324 is available beginning at $4,460. At Ticketmaster, the least expensive pair on their resale marketplace carried a hefty $11,640 price tag.

Those prices may seem high if one ventures over to actually search their listings. That’s because those websites use the age-old method of drip pricing – hiding substantial fees from the consumer until the last stage of the transaction. So a pair of tickets may look like they are a deal, but after you enter your credit card information, the hammer falls.

Take Vivid Seats. One pair of tickets in Section 324, Row 22 is listed at $3,923 per seat. Once you put in all of your information and click through to the checkout, you finally see the actual price, which includes $1,961.20 in service fees and a “special delivery” charge of $14.95, which is interesting, given that the tickets are only available as local pickup at the venue.
