Heavy metal group Mastodon will join the alt-rockers of Coheed and Cambria this summer to bring a co-headlining trek to fans across the U.S.
Mastadon will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their 2009 record Crack The Skye during the trek while Coheed and Cambria will be touring in support of their 2018 record The Unheavenly Creatures. The outing will kick-off on May 28 in Louisville, Kentucky, followed by shows in cities like Boston, New York, Chicago, Denver, San Diego, and Las Vegas. Irving, Texas will round-out the trek early July. Throughout the jaunt, Everytime I Die will open the show.
The Unheavenly Creatures dropped last October, featuring hits “Prologue” and “The Dark Sentencer.” The LP follows 2015’s The Color Before The Sun and 2013’s The Aftermath. Currently, Coheed and Cambria are on a headlining tour with support from Foxing through February 20 and Maps & Atlases through February 28.
During the show, Mastodon will be playing Crack The Skye in full. The album, which debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200, is known for tracks “Oblivion,” “Divinations,” and “Quintessence.” Their latest record, Emperor of Sand, dropped in 2017.
