EDM duo The Chainsmokers announced their ‘World War Joy’ headlining North American tour this fall with support from 5 Seconds of Summer, following their latest single together, “Who Do You Love.”
The 41-date tour will kick-off on September 25 in Cincinnati, Ohio, followed by shows in cities like Chicago, Toronto, Brooklyn, Miami, Houston, Milwaukee, Denver, and Sacramento. The trek will wrap-up in Vancouver, British Columbia on December 6. Throughout the outing, rising pop artist Lennon Stella will open the show on all dates.
The Chainsmokers have quickly become an EDM sensation following the release of the single “#SELFIE” in 2014. They continued with smash-hits like 2016’s “Don’t Let Me Down,” 2016’s “Closer” featuring Halsey, and 2017’s “Paris.” Memories…Do Not Open, the duo’s debut record, dropped in 2017, including tracks “Honest,” “Something Like This,” and “Break Up Every Night.” Last year, The Chainsmokers released their sophomore LP Sick Boy.
5 Seconds of Summer have also made a name for themselves in the music scene since 2014 with their self-titled record. The group brought a punk sound to the cliche pop boyband, soaring with the single “She Looks So Perfect.” In 2018, they returned to the scene with their sophomore LP Youngblood, featuring the title track, “Want You Back,” and “Lie To Me.”
Just last week, The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer joined together to release “Who Do You Love” via Disrupter Records/Columbia Records. The single garnered 14 million streams globally and took the No. 1 spot on the iTunes charts.
