The Smashing Pumpkins and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are teaming up this August for a month-long amphitheater tour with special guest AFI.
The tour, set to kick-off on August 8 in Camden, New Jersey, will play outdoor venues across North America for the perfect summer concert. They’ll hit cities like Toronto, Cleveland, Charlotte, and San Diego before wrapping-up in Mountain View, California at Shoreline Amphitheater. AFI, known for hits “Miss Murder” and “Girl’s Not Grey,” will open each show.
Grammy-award winning group The Smashing Pumpkins returned in 2018 with Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1/LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. They toured last year in support of the record and celebrated their 30-year-anniversary in the fall. The Smashing Pumpkins are considered one of the top rock bands of the generation with 1993’s 4x multi-platinum record Siamese Dream, featuring “Today” and “Cherub Rock,” as well as 1995’s 10x multi-platinum album Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness, which included hits “1979,” “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” and “Tonight, Tonight.”
Gallagher, known as the former frontman of the rock group Oasis, garnering attention with the smash-hit “Wonderwall,” launched a solo career as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds back in 2011. He has since released a self-titled record, followed by 2015’s Chasing Yesterday and Who Built The Moon? in 2017. His latest LP debuted at No. 1 in the UK, marking his 10th consecutive chart-topping studio album.
