English rocker Elvis Costello & The Imposters will team up with the punk-rock group Blondie this summer for a cross-country co-headlining tour.
The stars will kick-off the fun in Bethel, New York on July 20, followed by gigs at Uncasville’s Mohegan Sun Arena, Camden’s BB&T Pavilion, and the Pearl Theater At The Palms in Las Vegas. After select dates on the east-coast, the 13-date run will cross California before wrapping-up in Seattle, Washington on August 10.
Costello & The Imposters, which includes Steve Nieve, Davey Faragher, and Pete Thomas, will be touring in support of 2018’s Look Now. The LP, which was Costello’s first record since 2012’s In Motion Pictures, features some material that he played in concert but was never actually recorded.
“I knew if we could make an album with the scope of Imperial Bedroom and some of the beauty and emotion of Painted From Memory, we would really have something,” Costello told Ultimate Classic Rock of the record.
Blondie dropped Pollinator in 2017, but according to guitarist Chris Stein, the group hopes to continuously release more music. In an interview with Billboard, he noted that artists like Drake are “tuned in to what’s going on” in the industry and has the right idea of releasing multiple single songs at a time.
