Late music legends Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison will be at the center of a new hologram tour beginning this fall.

Base Hologram, the company behind the innovative production, unveiled dates for the global trek today. Roy Orbison & Buddy Holly: The Rock N’ Roll Dream Tour will kick off its North American leg September 19 in San Francisco. It will travel to an additional four dozen cities around the U.S. before wrapping in Toronto on November 20. Major markets like Indianapolis, Albany, Salt Lake City, San Diego and Raleigh will also host the holographic performers. In addition to the North American dates, an 18-date European leg will also run simultaneously.

“Both Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly set the stage for what was to come down the road in the music industry,” Base Hologram CEO Brian Becker said in an official release. “They defined the genre of Rock and Roll from writing to recording to the standard band configuration, and they influenced everyone from Elvis to The Beatles. Now to be able to recapture that magic on a grand scale and let their fans see them together will be something truly special.”

The late rockers’ families also expressed their excitement over the tour. Roy Orbison Jr. called the experience of hearing his father’s tunes played again in music venues “a transcendent and cathartic experience.” Holly’s widow Maria Elena Holly noted that both her husband and Orbison will gain a new generation of fans given the unique opportunity to witness them performing together.

The joint tour will feature a live band and backing singers to accompany the hologram technology. Base Hologram previously launched a solo Orbison hologram tour and are currently spearheading a hologram tour featuring opera singer Maria Callas with a new Whitney Houston project in the works.

While Orbison and Holly have been gone for 30 and 60 years, respectively, their musical legacy endures. The two have 16 Platinum records and ten Grammys among them, and combine for nearly five million monthly Spotify streams today. They remain best known for Top 40 hits like “Peggy Sue,” “Pretty Woman” and “You Got It.”
