Chance The Rapper To Embark On Tour In Support of Debut LP
Chance The Rapper is set to head out on a massive cross-country trek this fall in support of his debut record, The Big Day.
The outing will kick-off on September 14 in San Francisco, California, followed by shows in cities like Boston, Tampa, St. Louis, Austin, Toronto, and Buffalo. He’ll make stops at venues like New York City’s legendary Madison Square Garden, Denver’s Pepsi Center, the BOK Center in Tulsa, and Little Caesars Arena in Milwaukee before wrapping-up in Miami, Florida early November. Along the way, he’ll also appear at Las Vegas’ Life Is Beautiful and the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
The Big Day was just self-released on Friday, July 26. While he released commercial mixtapes 10 Days and Acid Rap in 2012 and 2013, respectively, he didn’t garner attention until 2016’s Coloring Book, receiving critical acclaim by winning Best Rap Album at the 2017 Grammys. However, The Big Day is being dubbed his “debut” studio record. The new LP delves into Chance’s wedding day and is family-centric, featuring tracks like “Do You Remember,” “Roo,” “5 Year Plan,” and “Found a Good One (Single No More).”
“Chance takes cues from the rawness of 10 Day, the lyrical prowess of Acid Rap, and the wide-eyed optimism of Coloring Book to create his most dynamic body of work to date,” a press release notes.
