Musicals are taking over tickets on sale this weekend. Tickets to see Moulin Rouge! The Musical during its February through July 2020 run on Broadway will go on sale Monday; the stage adaptation of the 2001 film is already seeing plenty of success, as the musical has broken its own sales record each week since it opened at the end of June. General sale tickets will also be available Monday for the stage adaptation of Disney’s Frozen as it heads to Chicago for performances from October 2020 through January 2021.
Phantom of the Opera and Once on this Island’s runs at Chicago’s Cadillac Place Theatre will release tickets this weekend, along with Sweeney Todd’s November shows in Detroit and several performances at Philadelphia’s Walnut Street Theatre including A Christmas Carol, Young Frankenstein and Shrek the Musical. Chinese dance company Shen Yun’s performances in Norfolk will go on general sale Monday, while The Illusionists’ winter Broadway performances will go on presale.
NY Comedy Festival performances will also go on sale Monday; The Daily Show host Trevor Noah, Big Mouth and Bob’s Burgers actress Jenny Slate, and Your Mom’s House host Tom Segura are among comedians slated to perform. Sports tickets on sale Monday include the ESPN NIT Season Tip-off at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and the University of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football home games.
Additional tickets on sale this weekend include The 1975’s San Diego show in December, The Ben Folds Orchestra Experience in San Antonio and Day6’s U.S. shows. Presales available Monday include The Lumineers 2020 tour dates, Rent’s 20th-anniversary performances in Ottawa and The Bachelor Live on Stage in Tucson.
