The 2019 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl is selling better than ever before, despite the highest average ticket price among the last five annual events.
The Peach Bowl game will take place tomorrow, December 29, in Atlanta. The Oklahoma Sooners and LSU Tigers will face-off at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. A ticket will cost fans on average around $400, yet according to KFOR Oklahoma’s News 4, officials say that fans have purchased tickets from seven different countries and 46 states. A quarter of all ticket sales are solely from Louisiana residents, with Georgia fans coming in second with 17 percent of total sales. Only six percent of sales on StubHub currently are from Oklahoma, officials noted.
The average ticket price for the National Championship game – which the team might have a shot at – is around $1,719, five percent higher than last year’s sales. These prices are a whopping 223 percent higher than a year ago at this time.
The Peach Bowl isn’t the only college football event to be selling well; the Gator Bowl, set to take place next Thursday between Tennessee and Indiana, has already exceeded attendance expectations with 55,000 tickets sold. With less than a week to go, the teams have sold the most amount of tickets since the 2016 Gator Bowl between Georgia and Penn State, which brought in 58,212 people.
