British rock icon Rod Stewart is taking a step back from his Las Vegas shows to headline a tour across the U.S. this year with Cheap Trick.
The trek will kick-off in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on July 21, followed by gigs in Toronto, Bangor, Holmdel, Raleigh, and Tampa. He’ll make stops along the way at amphitheaters and arenas like Uncasville’s Mohegan Sun Arena, the Jones beach Theater in Wantagh, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta before wrapping-up at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Chicago, Illinois on September 5. The rock group Cheap Trick will join Stewart for the outing.
Ahead of the tour, Stewart can be found performing in Las Vegas for his residency as Caesars Palace with dates from March 6 through the 21. Following the U.S. run, he’ll head back to Vegas for a string of shows at the Palace through late September and early October. The 74-year-old recently just dropped his live album, You’re in my Heart: Rod Stewart with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Stewart, one of the best-selling music artists of all time, reached heights in the industry during the 60s and 70s. Over the years, he’s released 30 studio albums, garnering attention with popular tracks “You Wear It Well,” “(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don’t Want to Be Right,” “Infatuation,” and “Rhythm of My Heart.” He still continues to woo audiences, with his 2018 record Blood Red Roses taking the top spot on the Billboard UK Official Albums Chart.
Cheap Trick, best-known for tracks like ’70s hits “I Want You To Want Me” and “Dream Police,” released their 18th and 19th albums, We’re All Alright! and Christmas Christmas, in 2017. Last year, they released the single “Gimme Some Truth,” which may be a part of a forthcoming record.
